There are three primary uses for rice hulls – Construction (Thermal and Sound Insulation) Horticulture (Soil Mix, Mulch, Seed Germination) & Animal Husbandry (Animal Feed, Pet Homes, Poultry Bedding).
HORTICULTURE USE – Rice Husk can be used as a top dress or mulch product to prevent the germination and growth of weeds. By providing a depth of around 1.25”, weed seed that lands on the pot are unable to retain the moisture and proper environmental conditions to grow. The rice hull can be used as an amendment to soil replacing and/or in conjunction with perlite to provide drainage in the growing media.
WHY SHEHRI KISAAN RICE HUSK – Its uniquely processed and is a readily renewable resource requiring no mining or land disruption to produce. Drains well, and provides a good source of aeration and porosity. As so many growers have learned, it is a perfect replacement for perlite in the growing media — providing a less dusty mixing environment, lower basic cost and decomposition over time, while remaining stable during the typical plant production cycle.
