Product Description 1
Lord Varaha is the third incarnation of Lord Vishnu. In his half-boar half-human, this avathar reflects the transformation of animal to man. When the demon Hiranyaksha stole the earth (personified as the goddess Bhudevi) and hid her in the primordial waters, Vishnu appeared as Varaha to rescue her. His consort, Bhudevi, the earth, is often depicted as a young woman, lifted by Varaha. The mythology refers to Hiranyakasipu, a demon, & his son Prahlada, who was an ardent devotee of Lord Vishnu. Hiranyakasipu did not like that and forced him to stop worshipping Vishnu. Every time he punished Prahlada, Lord Vishnu used to save him for his devotion and he came in the form of Narasimha (Man-Lion). Nara means man and Simha means Lion. At Simahachalam, Hiranyakasipu threw a big Mountain on Prahlada and Lord Narasimha came to save him. Varaha is the Third Incarnation of Lord Narayana. In this avatara he killed demon Hiranyaaksha, the brother of Hiranyakasipu. Narasimha is the fourth incarnation of Lord Narayana in which he killed Hiranyakasipu. After killing of his father, Prahlada prayed Lord Narasimha for a calm incarnation of both Varaha and Narismha to which the God agreed and made incarnations as Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Murthy.Varaha is one of the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu, as per ancient Hindu texts of Puarana.
