The Pillars of Samrat Ashoka are a sequence or series of columns which can be found all around the different places of india. The Ashoka Stambhs or Pillars are built up or at least inscribed with rescripts by the Mauryan King Samrat Ashoka during his empire in the 3rd century BC. There was many pillars but currently there are nineteen pillars which has been survive with inscriptions. Usually the pillars are 12 to 15 meters (40-50 fts) high & 50 tons heavy in weight of each And the pillars were dragged and moved, sometimes hundreds of miles to the place where they were build-up. Later, After the Indepedence of the india on 26th January 1950, the ashoka stambh's symbol is adopted as The National Emblem of India.
