Product Description
UGR 86 USB Radium GPS Receiver - UIDAI Approved for Aadhaar UGR 86 device scans both iris and fingerprints to register individuals for a 12-digit UID (Aadhaar) number, which is tracked and monitored by the Indian government using the Global Positioning System (GPS). The ECMP Aadhaar enrollment client now requires an STQC-certified GPS attachment. The Sync procedure enforces this requirement by making GPS usage mandatory. GPS captures latitude and longitude, enabling computer control and geofencing, which enhances the security of the enrollment process. Effective immediately, Registrars and Enrollment Agencies must use GPS. Starting March 15, 2017, all ECMP clients must be GPS-enabled, and no non-GPS-enabled ECMP machines will be allowed after this date. Bulk purchases of GPS devices for Aadhaar kits are available, including models GPS USB devices. The UIDAI mandates the use of GPS-based UID machines to improve equipment security, as previously, the authorities could not determine the locations of the machines. Thus, GPS-enabled tracking is now a security requirement.
