The process for making your quilled paper into pendants or earrings is simple. You only need to take size into account; shapes for pendants and earring must be small and of wearable size. You have no idea how spectacular a pair of quilled earrings looks when worn with a pretty dress. You can receive as many compliments on accessory choice when you're wearing one of the pairs of quilled earrings, necklace or bracelet you've crafted with love.
These include coloured paper strips, adhesive, paper quilling tool, jump rings, hooks, artificial gemstones, and instructions sheets. The hobbyist will get practice at following instructions, gain increasing manual dexterity, and produce fun and decorative products.
Quilling or paper filigree is the art of rolling, shaping and bending thin strips of paper into delicate looking shapes and using these pieces to form a design. Quilling is one of the easiest crafts to learn.
Nearly all quilling is done with just a few variations of basic rolls and scrolls. The basic quilling shapes are made by taking strips of paper and rolling them into tight or loose coils. These coils are then formed into various shapes. The shapes are grouped together to make any design or pattern that you can imagine.
In general, a combination of tight winding, loosening, curling, creasing and gluing are used to form the designs.
Glue your different shapes together to create the look and design that you want. Embellish your jewellery using the gemstones provided so as to make the jewellery look very authentic. Paste the gemstones on top of the coils at the center.
Now make a very tight small coil with a hole through which the jump ring has to fit. Slip the jump ring through a chain or hooks depending on whether the piece is a pendant or earrings. Now you can proudly show off your hand-crafted quilled jewellery!
