This kit is specifically designed and SPD configured for the MacBook.
Maximum Memory:
The early MacBook models that run the "Intel Core Duo" have a maximum memory of 2GB, the 1.83Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo also has a 2GB maximum. All other early MacBooks that run the "Intel Core2 Duo" can run a maximum of 4GB. The Early 2008 and newer plastic MacBooks (Model Versions 3,1 and newer) can run 6GB (1x 4GB and 1x 2GB module).
Non-Stacked IC's: MacMemory Net uses a Non-stacked module for this application. The cheaper stacked IC variety of SO-DIMM draws more power, which increases heat and can cause increased errors. MacMemory Net ONLY uses premium non-stacked chips.
