•PRODUCT INFO & EXTRACTION: Known for its history of use in medicine, Clary Sage Hydrosol (INCI: Salvia Sclarea Distillate Water) is typically obtained by STEAM DISTILLATION method and retains the characteristic odor of the pods from which it is distilled. Thus, a hydrosol is byproduct of essential oil obtained through steam distillation. It is the pure, steam distilled extract which has in itself distilled water + water soluble parts+ oils soluble parts.
•AROMA & MAIN CONSTITUENTS: Clary Sage hydrosol has a full bodied fragrance. Its fragrance is defined as pleasing, herbaceous and bittersweet aroma, almost grassy and tea-like. It mainly contains linalool, linalyl acetate, caryophyllene, a-terpineol, geraniol, etc.
•QUALITY CHECK: Hydrosols are also known as Distillates and Hydrolates. Floral Waters are NOT Hydrosols. Hydrosol freshly made will more likely have drops of essential oil on the surface as well as some plant matter. Some Hydrosol will have a thin film of essential oil; some will have tiny droplets of essential oil on the top and some will have no essential oil. A high quality Hydrosol contains trace amounts of essential oil. Colors may differ based on the botanical material it is distilled from.
•PACKAGING & STORAGE: 100ml clear PET bottle with a white spray pump. Keep refrigerated to prolong shelf life, which is 2 years from Mfg. Date. Shipped in a good quality 3-ply corrugated box.
